What we log when a link is clicked
This is the complete list — nothing else is collected per click:
- Approximate country, resolved from the click's IP address via IP geolocation. We do not store city-level location.
- Device type — mobile, tablet, or desktop, detected from the browser's user agent string.
- Referrer — the site the click came from, if any (or “Direct” if there wasn't one).
- Timestamp of the click.
The raw IP address is used only at the moment of the click to resolve the country above; it is not retained as a separate, queryable field tied to your click history.
What we store for your account
Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (never the password itself). Nothing more.
Who can see click analytics
Only the account that owns a link can see that link's analytics. A link created anonymously has no owner and its analytics aren't viewable by anyone until it's claimed by signing up.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share click data with third parties.
- We don't track you across other websites.
- We don't require an account to shorten a link.
Preview pages
Viewing a link's preview page (before deciding to continue to the destination) is not logged as a click and does not appear in click analytics — it's a separate, unlogged action.
